Every year more and more marine turtles come to nest in our beaches, laying more eggs, and we have not enough resources to take care of them and achieve our objectives.

As a Volunteer, you´ll support our cause, contributing with your time to the efforts carried out in Mexico to restore the marine turtles population.

Nesting season begins in june, ending in november.  From july to october volunteers are welcome, being august and september the months with more activity.

Activities to do are wide and simple, for wich we rocommend to read first the marine turtles section and read the volunteer´s profile. Some of the activities you´ll carry out are:

1.- Nocturnal patroling of Puerto Vallarta beaches, protection of marine turtles nesting, collecting their eggs and buriyng them in to our nurseries (hatcheries).

2.- Daily care & control of the nurseries.

3.- Participate in our public baby turtles release events.

In general, procedures and requirements are:

1.- To be older than 18 years (Those with less than 17 years most be supervised by an adult. Those Older than 17 and younger than 18 years most provide a sign permit of his parents).

2.- To participate directly into the Project for at least 3 weeks (Volunteers accepted for less time (more than a week), but the experience we seek will be reduced significatively.

3.- Each volunteer is responsible for the totality of costs of accomodation and food, as well as any other cost may incur during the participation in the program.

4.- To receive basic training (obligatory course) and to participate daily to get the minimal experience required. This course is provided by us without cost, and includes basic and field training.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Unfortunately, we´ve not economical resources to bring support during your staying. In our possibilities, we try to get cheap accomodation for you, providing few option of cheap rates with some hotels that offer to our volunteers special rates.

Before your travel, you most fill an application form and sign it. This form will be sended to your e-mail and will allow us to know you better and have basic but important information about you. Give this form to the Volunteer Program Coordinator upon arrival. Add a copy of your passport or any official ID.
